Oman’s Membership in the United Nations Committee for Combatting Discrimination Against Women

At the twenty-third session of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Oman was elected as a member of the committee for combatting all forms of discrimination against women for the period 2025-2028.

Oman’s effective capabilities in addressing gender discrimination challenges and providing necessary support to women have highlighted the significance of its presence in this committee.

Hamida Al-Shukairiyah, Director of the Rural Development Office at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, represents Oman in this committee. She emphasizes the importance of closely following developments related to women’s development and empowerment.
