A Woman from Oman’s Royal Family Among the 2025 Arab Award Winners

Sayyida Meyyan bint Shihab Al Said, Chairwoman of the Omani Society for Design, has been awarded the 2025 Arab Woman of the Year Award for Social Impact. The honor was presented at a ceremony held in London, organized by the London Arabia Foundation.

Sayyida Meyyan is a well-known figure in Oman’s social development landscape. She is the former wife and current cousin of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham, the Crown Prince of the Sultanate of Oman.

Since 2015, the London Arabia Foundation has recognized influential Arab women from various fields, with a focus on enhancing international dialogue, social responsibility, education, and research.

This recognition highlights Sayyida Meyyan’s active role in social development, the promotion of social innovation, and support for youth initiatives in Oman.

During the ceremony, Sayyida Meyyan stated:

“It is a great honor to receive this award, which I dedicate to all Omani women—women who play a vital role in building a progressive and dynamic society.”

She added:

“Social impact, as we see it, is a practical responsibility that must create real change in people’s lives. Through various projects, we have sought to foster creativity, cohesion, and youth empowerment.”

The event was attended by The Rt Hon Nusrat Ghani, Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Commons, along with several Arab ambassadors to the United Kingdom.
