Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is expected to visit Muscat in November to attend the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF). This significant event will enhance Oman’s position on the global investment map, highlighting its growing influence in the international economy.
Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), emphasized in a recent newsletter that this forum will open new doors for foreign investments and foster international cooperation. He stressed the role of such events in driving economic diversification and further integrating Oman into the global economy.
Musk’s visit comes after a Royal Decree issued in June 2023, granting Starlink Muscat a license to establish a satellite communication system. Oman has previously invested in Musk’s SpaceX, marking its strategic commitment to advanced technologies and economic expansion.
