The Sultan has issued a decree to establish a special economic zone in Muscat named the Artificial Intelligence Zone. This decree aims to boost economic development in the country and focus on the modern technology sector.
Management and Development of the Zone
According to the decree, the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones will be responsible for appointing the entity to manage, operate, and develop the zone in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology.
Incentives and Facilities
The decree also stipulates offering incentives, benefits, exemptions, and facilities to projects established in the zone, within the legal framework of special economic zones and free zones, encouraging investment and stimulating economic growth.
