Four Migrants Arrested for Selling Fake Currency in Oman

Muscat – May 14, 2025, The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced that four migrants have been arrested on charges of fraud and selling counterfeit foreign currency in Oman.

In an official statement, the police said:

“The General Department of Criminal Investigations arrested four individuals, after they tricked several people by offering fake foreign currency in exchange for genuine money at attractive rates, then took all the cash during the transaction.”

The police added that legal proceedings are underway against the suspects and urged the public to only exchange currency through licensed channels and to report any suspicious offers immediately.
