Omani-Pakistani Cooperation Boost in Food Security and Rice Import

Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, represented by the General Directorate, hosted a delegation from Pakistan to explore ways to enhance cooperation in food security and rice import. This cooperation is a strategic step to strengthen bilateral relations and develop the agriculture and food sector between the two countries.

Various opportunities to expand cooperation in multiple areas related to food security and rice import were discussed, as Oman seeks to ensure the continuity of essential food supplies and improve the quality of imported products. The Pakistani delegation expressed its readiness to provide technical support and share expertise in this field.

This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations between Oman and Pakistan, with rice being one of the most important products imported from Pakistan to meet local demand in the Sultanate.
