Future Fund Oman (FFO), a key initiative under the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), has announced its first investment project batch worth over $2 billion. This includes $1.6 billion from foreign investors and $571 million funded by FFO, aiming to create over 1,600 direct jobs and play a pivotal role in Oman’s economic diversification and growth strategy.
These projects cover ten critical sectors, including technology, manufacturing, tourism, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. Among the most prominent initiatives is the United Solar Polysilicon Plant at Sohar Freezone, expected to be one of the world’s largest polysilicon production facilities and the first in the Middle East, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons.
FFO has also formed strategic partnerships with leading international entities, including IDG Capital (China) and EWTP Oman, targeting key industries such as ICT, energy, tourism, and agriculture. The fund supports SMEs and startups, particularly in fintech, health tech, and e-commerce, reinforcing Oman’s innovative ecosystem.
Established in January 2024, FFO aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040 and seeks to attract global investors. Interested parties can submit proposals via the official website Future Fund Oman.
