Narendra Modi, during his radio program “Mann Ki Baat”, commended Indian families living in Oman for preserving their heritage and fostering deep trade relations over centuries. He highlighted a project led by the Indian Embassy in Oman and the National Archives of India that is collecting historical documents, some dating back to 1838, showcasing the struggles, joys, and contributions of these families.
He also praised the presence of a “Mini India” in Guyana (South America), where Indian-origin citizens, who migrated 180 years ago, now lead in fields such as politics, education, and business. Guyana’s President, Dr. Irfan Ali, himself of Indian descent, is proud of his heritage.
Additionally, Modi mentioned efforts in Slovakia, where ancient Indian texts like the Upanishads have been translated into Slovak for the first time, further reflecting the global reach of Indian culture.
