Sultan of Oman Hosts Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy

Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy, on Wednesday, January 14 (last week), at Al Barakah Palace, as part of her two-day official visit to Oman.

During the talks, both sides emphasized strengthening economic and investment cooperation and expanding relations in the fields of industry, energy, advanced technologies, food security, and tourism. Cultural, educational, and research cooperation, as well as ways to further develop these areas, were also reviewed.

In another part of the discussions, views were exchanged on regional and international developments, with an emphasis on the peaceful resolution of disputes and support for stability and security.

At the conclusion of the visit, a joint statement was issued underscoring the continuation of the strategic partnership between Oman and Italy and the preparation of a 2026–2030 cooperation program aimed at following up on agreements and increasing bilateral trade exchanges.
