Official Oman Hajj Statistics Announced: Omani and Resident Pilgrims Confirm Readiness for Hajj 2025

Muscat – May 21, 2025, Oman’s Hajj authorities announced that out of the total 14,000 Hajj quota allocated to the Sultanate this year, 13,944 pilgrims—99.6%—have completed registration and verification procedures.

In a press conference, Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Rashdi, Head of Oman’s Hajj Mission, confirmed that 13,530 pilgrims are Omani nationals and 470 are resident expatriates, while 56 pilgrims are still finalizing their documents.

According to the report:

• 24% of the quota was allocated to Muscat Governorate, followed by North Al Batinah with 19%.
• Most pilgrims are aged between 18 and 60.
• 84% are performing obligatory Hajj (Hajj al-Fard), while the rest fall into voluntary, proxy, and other categories.

Travel routes:

• 63% of pilgrims chose air travel.
• 37% opted for land travel.
• The average cost was OMR 1,417 for land and OMR 2,063 for air.

Top initiatives for this year:

• Financial support for over 150 low-income pilgrims, funded by Waqf Bait Al-Ribat (OMR 150,000).
• Hajj and Umrah Expo with more than 30 official and private entities.
• Mobile carts to assist around 450 elderly and disabled pilgrims during rituals.
• Electronic bracelets to enhance safety and track special cases and senior pilgrims.
• Performance evaluation upgrade for Hajj service providers.
• Border crossing time reduced from 4 hours to approximately 45 minutes.

Camp improvements in Saudi Arabia:

• Mina: Added 75 restrooms (total: 267), 250 ablution stations (total: 356), and 150 new split-unit air conditioners (total: 900).
• Arafat: Added 100 restrooms (total: 320), 250 ablution stations (total: 312), and improved cooling capacity from 1 unit per 40m² to 1 per 32m².

According to the delegation, these improvements aim to enhance comfort, safety, and spiritual experience for Omani pilgrims during Hajj.
