6 July 2025
According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), Oman’s GDP at constant prices rose by 2.5% in Q1 2025, reaching OMR 9.43 billion, driven mainly by the increase in value-added from non-oil activities.

Strong performance in non-oil sectors
The non-oil sector grew by 4.4%, reaching OMR 6.92 billion, compared to OMR 6.63 billion in the same period last year. Key sectoral highlights include:

  • Agriculture and fisheries: up 7.6% to OMR 273.6 million
  • Industrial activities: up 7% to OMR 2.03 billion
  • Services: up 3.2% to OMR 4.62 billion

Slight decline in oil activities
In contrast, oil sector activities declined by 0.4%, totaling OMR 2.92 billion.

  • Crude oil production: down 2.2% to OMR 2.45 billion
  • Natural gas: up 9.5% to OMR 475 million

Analytical Summary
The data reflects Oman’s continued progress toward economic diversification. The steady growth in non-oil sectors such as agriculture, industry, and services demonstrates the effectiveness of national policies aimed at reducing oil dependence and strengthening the country’s economic resilience.
