In the Sultanate of Oman, there is a noticeable rise in the prices of vegetables and fruits due to several external factors, including the challenging climatic conditions facing the country, as well as increased air and sea shipping costs and insurance rates.

Factors Affecting Prices

Prices are primarily influenced by supply and demand factors as well as agricultural seasons. The unavailability of some products during the current period also leads to price increases. Relevant authorities closely monitor supply chains and prices from central markets to retail shops, taking legal action against establishments that raise prices without justification.

Khalid Al Siyabi, the official spokesperson for the Consumer Protection Authority, confirmed the close monitoring of the situation and the necessary actions to ensure consumer rights.
