By the directive of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Prince Sayyid Bil Arab bin Haitham attended the opening ceremony of the Royal Car Museum at Al Baraka Palace yesterday.

The opening of this museum provides a unique opportunity for the public to explore an exceptional collection of royal, classic, and rare cars. It serves as a fascinating window into the world of automobiles and the history of the Sultanate of Oman, especially for enthusiasts of historical cars and Omani royal culture.

The Royal Car Museum features a collection of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s personal cars and historical vehicles used by Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan Said bin Taimur, and Sayyid Tariq bin Taimur.

Museum History:

The idea of founding this museum was conceived by Sultan Qaboos bin Said in the early 1970s. With a passion for collecting vintage and rare cars, he began an invaluable collection starting with two cars belonging to Sultan Said bin Taimur. Over time, other royal and rare vehicles were added, and in 2012, the museum building was constructed to house these vehicles.

Opening to the Public:

The museum’s opening allowed the public to view its unique collection of royal and historic cars and gain a deeper understanding of Omani royal history and automobile craftsmanship.

The Royal Car Museum is now ready to welcome car enthusiasts.
