Vision 2040 and Cultural Shifts in Oman towards supporting working women have provided a platform for the growth of female entrepreneurs. Arwa Al Bulushi, the commercial and investment attaché at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in London, emphasized that empowering women is both a social justice issue and an investment in the nation’s human capital.
Rising Number of Female Entrepreneurs in Oman reflects these positive changes. According to Muscat technology company Arishi, women registered 70% of small to medium-sized companies in Oman over the past decade. The ratio of female entrepreneurs increased from 29% in 2021 to 32% in 2022, with the percentage of female business owners reaching 6.1% in 2022, as reported by the Oman Observer.
