Muscat – The National Center for Statistics and Information of Oman announced in its latest report from January that Oman’s population increased by 2.0% in 2024, reaching 5,268,072 people, compared to 5,165,602 people in 2023.

Oman’s Population Distribution by Nationality in 2024

  • 🇴🇲 Omani Citizens in 2024: 2,984,793 people (56.6% of the total population).
  • 🌍 Expatriates in Oman: 2,283,279 people (43.4% of the total population).

Significant Population Growth in Muscat | The Most Populated Governorate in Oman

Latest data indicates that Muscat’s population grew by 3.0% to reach 1,499,549 people, compared to 1,455,680 people at the end of 2023.

  • 🏡 Omani Citizens in Muscat: 584,092 people (39.0% of the total population of the governorate).
  • 🌍 Expatriates in Muscat: 915,457 people.

These figures indicate that the number of Omanis in Muscat has decreased compared to the previous year, where the number stood at 585,016 in 2023.
